Dementia Prevention
Reducing cognitive decline through community-anchored, evidence-based prevention.
The Story
Singapore's old-age dependency ratio is rising sharply. Dementia is no longer a future challenge — it is a present one.
Why prevention
The Lancet Commission on Dementia Prevention has identified up to 14 modifiable risk factors that together may account for around 45% of dementia cases worldwide. The single biggest opportunity in eldercare today is delivering evidence-based lifestyle support at community scale, early, to the people most likely to benefit.
What works
The FINGER trial proved that a multi-domain intervention — combining physical activity, nutrition guidance, cognitive training, and vascular risk management — can meaningfully slow cognitive decline. Our SINGER protocol adapts FINGER to Singapore's diet, languages, and community settings.
How donations help
Gifts under this Cause fund the four Programmes we deliver across Kembangan, Bukit Merah, Chengshan, Jelapang and other neighbourhoods through our IPC partners. Every Programme is partner-delivered, evidence-led, and measured against validated cognitive scales. [DRAFT]
